Hunger Free Heartland was chosen to be one of Share Our Strength’s No Kid Hungry Allies. The No Kid Hungry Allies program recognizes organizations committed to making the No Kid Hungry campaign model work in their state. They are chosen based on their potential to build an effective public-private partnership model bringing together elected officials, corporations, government agencies and nonprofits on the state and local level to connect kids to federal child nutrition programs. Allies also must have expertise in anti-hunger issues and federal child nutrition programs; work with low-income families; have demonstrated the ability to develop creative strategies for ending childhood hunger; and have presented a long-term, metric-driven plan with innovative solutions to ending child hunger in their community.
Share Our Strength is committed to ending childhood hunger in America by 2015 – and is rallying and uniting the various organizations and entities needed to make this a reality. While many of the Share Our Strength campaigns are nationwide, Share Our Strength is also at work on a local level through state and city-based No Kid Hungry campaigns or partnerships or by empowering existing local organizations. These sustainable partnerships are fighting childhood hunger in communities across our country. We’re working with the best of the best to end childhood hunger. Together.
