ConAgra Foods Foundation convenes key players to create an entity to address the root cause of childhood food insecurity in the Omaha metropolitan area.

December 2010

Hunger Free Heartland (HFH) begins building relationships with cross-sector organizations in Omaha. Operations were out of the Food Bank of the Heartland.

2011

HFH begins work with the Nebraska School Breakfast Challenge.

2013

Childhood Hunger Ends Here three year program launches in Omaha.

2014

HFH network grows to include over 80 businesses, schools, and organizations.

January 2015

HFH moves to the Barbara Weitz Community Engagement Center on the University of Nebraska-Omaha campus.

May 2015

Summer Meals kick-off at Holling Heights elementary school in Omaha.

October 2015

Breakfast Challenge expands to alternative breakfast models and expands across the state of Nebraska.

January 2016

Hearts Against Hunger forum at St. Pius X in Omaha and Legislative Breakfast are held.

February 2016

Co-host Summer Food Service Program summit in Kearney, Nebraska with the Nebraska Department of Education.

2017

Expand educational and advocacy programming across the state of Nebraska.
